Oil primed linen is pre-treated and ready to paint on, however it is intended for use with oil paint only. The canvas fabric is pre-sized (or sealed) with two layers of synthetic glue followed by a coat of Zinc white oil primer. This is then allowed three days to air dry before being primed with Titanium white oil primer. The linen is then left a further ten days to dry completely. Please note that the result gives the primer a faint yellow hue. For a brilliant white finish, see our Acrylic Primed Fine Linen. This is available in four different weights so that you can select which is most appropriate for your work!
Coarse Linen is a heavy weight, rough, professional painting surface that is ideal for artists who like to have a strong tooth to work against.
Medium Linen has a slight texture in the weave and is ideal for artists who require a subtle grain for their work.
Fine Linen is our most popular linen painting surface. It is of a similar finish to the medium product in the range, with only a very slight grain and is ideal for artists creating detailed work.
Superfine Linen is our smoothest linen with an extra fine weave. It is ideal for very fine, detailed work that requires a flawless finish.
