The John Jones team chooses to supply Claessens linen canvas. This is due to the brand's heritage of manufacturing quality painting canvas inspired by the traditions of the Flemish and Dutch masters. Claessens is renowned for their high quality unprimed and primed linen canvases and traditional methods of priming fabrics which date back to 1906. A variety of grains are available in these artist linens, including Fine, Medium and Coarse, and each grain type can be purchased either as an unprimed canvas, a pre-sized canvas or a pre-primed canvas in acrylic, oil or synthetic glue. All artwork primers are rolled onto the linen in multiple coats for an even finish. Please note that oil primed linen canvases tends to have a yellow hue. For a brilliant white finish we recommend using acrylic primed linens instead.
