Our Studio

We have set up our studio to ensure we can offer you the best reproductions of your art works each and every time you come to us with your photographic needs.

Our specialised studio is painted with neutral grey and black backgounds to avoid colour casts affecting the film we shoot. All artworks are documented adjacent to Kodak colour bars enabling us to guarantee a precise colour match to your original work.

To help you with photographic terms we have provided a glossary.

Traditional equipment

Our Studio equipment includes the best Japanese, German and Swiss lenses, 10" x 8"  and 5" x 4" large format cameras giving superb reproduction quality for transparencies. Our films are regularly tested at leading developing labs to ensure we offer the best and most consistent processing/ film combination.

Digital equipment

As well as our traditional services we work with digital technology, allowing for easy reference and cataloguing on computer disc and the internet.

Our High Res Capture Cameras can photograph artwork as RAW files as well as high resolutions providing you with a file large enough to print above A2 size.

Our scanners can also capture 16 bit colour (billions of colours as opposed to non professional 8 bit which is just millions of colours!) We are also able to scan 5” x 4” and 35mm transparencies of your artwork are as good as they can possibly be.

Lighting

Our colour calibrated studio lights are also regularly assessed to ensure that a neutral colour is emitted, in accordance with international reproduction standards.Our custom lighting system enables us to also offer a location photography service, ensuring we can offer the same standard of quality and colour consistency on location that we currently offer in our purpose built studio.
