Scanning of different media types
We offer a range of scanning services, from low resolution scans for use on the internet to high resolution, high quality scans for reproduction in print. We accept all popular film formats from 35mm to 11”x14” both negative and positive. We can also scan from flat-art and sculpture up to 96” long.
For high quality reproductions we suggest you scan originals at 300dpi at the size you wish them to be viewed. If you’re not sure exactly what you need, then our experienced photographic team can help you find the right solution.
Insurance Documentation
Insurance companies often insist you have your valuables catalogued and photographed to help identification in case the worst happens and you need to make a claim. We can photograph items and produce an indexed catalogue for you and your insurance company’s records. We also recommend documenting the backs of artwork before it is installed in a frame, to help clarify the authenticity of the image and also its value.
Retouching and Manipulation
If artwork is damaged or you need to enhance certain aspects of an original we will photograph the image so that our skilled retouchers can work on it to produce a new copy. This way the original is never harmed and can be given (if needed) to a conservator to prevent further deterioration.
