Optium Acrylic is a lightweight material which includes an ultra violet light filter to safeguard against the damaging effects of both natural and electric light and is coated to reduce the risk of abrasion. This safe material will not shatter if broken during transit and, unlike traditional acrylic glazing, is anti-static making it ideal for use with loose pigments such as charcoal, chalk or pastels. Optium acrylic is also low glare, meaning it significantly reduces the unsightly reflections seen in standard picture frame glass. The only disadvantage to this high quality glazing is it is more costly in price, however the multiple benefits make it an excellent choice for the protection of high value artworks.
