Our London based artist surfaces team offer a canvas stretching service for original works of art and digital canvas prints. We work with professional artists, galleries and collectors to stretch new artwork which has been transported to the UK rolled up in tubes and needs to be re-stretched ready for exhibition display. Our team also carry out conservation re-stretching for paintings which were originally supported by poor quality stretcher bars that have warped and detoriorated, causing cracking in the painting and rot.
Our museum quality stretcher bars are assembled from welded aluminium or tulip wood, a low emission hard wood with very few knots. This material is kiln-dried to remove moisture, creating a durable, strong canvas stretcher support with a low risk of splitting when nailed or stapled. Our canvas stretching service is carried out in-house by professional artwork stretching technicians for a quick, hassle-free service. The John Jones team have over 40 years experience in providing a canvas stretching service in London, including stretching canvas onto circular and elliptical shaped supports.
