Scott Mead: Above The Clouds at Hamiltons Gallery
10 January 2018
We are delighted to have worked with photographer Scott Mead on his incredible series of works Above The Clouds, now on show at Hamiltons Gallery in London. Above The Clouds features works that address the emotional, physical and philosophical wonder of air travel, capturing moments of tranquility and beauty. All proceeds from the show and accompanying book are donated to Great Ormond Street Hospital, who cared for and cured one of Scott's children of a life threatening condition some years ago.
Our team set out to design a frame that would enhance the viewer's experience of these works, creating stillness for the viewer to take time to engage and connect with the work. After many months of research we setlled on aluminium outer frames, hand patinated to a gun metal finish, whilst the inner frames are made from compressed paper (as used by Boeing in their actual planes) to create the sculpted feel of an airplane window.
The show is on until 19 Jan 2018 and is highly recommended, not just by us, but also by The Guardian - read more here.
