Art Collection course at the Royal Academy
02 May 2017
10 & 11 June - two day course
When we decided to build the John Jones contmemporary art collection back in 2006, we signed up for a course on collecting art with the Whitchapel Gallery. It was a fantastic way to learn about the history of collecting as well as ideas on how to develop a collection. A new course has just been launched at the Royal Academy which offers a brilliant approach to collecting, with lots of practical tips and techniques. Led by Charlotte Appleyard, the Royal Academy’s Director of Development and author of ‘Corporate Art Collections: A Handbook to Corporate Buying’, who has a wealth of knowledge of both private and corporate collections. Aimed at individual, private and corporate collectors, Charlotte will cover all aspects of building a collection including its meaning and identity. For full details click here.
