Rachel Lillie: Odyssey
House of Illustration’s first Illustrator-in-Residence Rachel Lillie is set to exhibit a culmination of drawings from her 6 months residency from 4th November which explore the ideas of journeys, both literal of the House of Illustrations move into their new Kings Cross premises and metaphorical. As part of her residency we were thrilled to have Rachel visit the John Jones Arts Building to document the framing processes in our workshops. More information about her residency is available on her latest blog.

House of Illustrations upcoming Paula Rego/ Honoré Daumier exhibition, Scandal, Gossip and Other Stories, is set to open on 14th November and run until 22nd March. Although more than a century separates the two artists their illustrations share a range of common concerns and approaches which this exhibition will explore by placing the works in direct conversation. Our artist surfaces team have developed a range of paper panels suitable for her artistic approach, a selection of which will be on display for this exhibition.
