Horst: Photographer of Style, 6 September 2014 - 4 January 2015, Victoria and Albert Museum
The long awaited retrospective of renowned photographer Horst P. Horst, Horst: Photographer of Style, opens at the Victoria and Albert Museum this September.
Horst P. Horst (1906-1999) is one of the leading photographers of the 20th century. In his illustrious career, Horst traversed the worlds of art, fashion, theatre and high society and was one of Vogue’s star photographers. Presenting his most iconic fashion images, this definitive retrospective exhibition also explores Horst’s less well-known work alongside his creative process, influences, and legacy as a master photographer.
The John Jones team have been working closely with a private collector to frame over 100 pieces of their collection, which will go on loan to the Victoria and Albert Museum for the forthcoming Horst retrospective. John Jones are currently producing a range of museum standard, conservation grade wood and welded metal frames, in a wide selection of special finishes, including gilding, gesso, and colour washes. The frames will protect the works from long term damage as well as compliment Horst’s superb variety of fashion, travel and surrealist photographic prints and drawings.
