John Jones Arts Building launches this June
30 May 2014
This June, John Jones is delighted to launch The Arts Building, our brand new development dedicated to the preservation and presentation of artwork. The six storey state-of-the-art Clerkenwell-inspired warehouse contains design, conservation, photography and print studios, a new double-height fitting area, and a purpose built not-for-profit Project Space and Artist Studio.
Our new facilities have enabled us to significantly expand the John Jones offer, creating full client experience; from the initial comprehensive fine arts consultancy, through to conservation, design, printing, framing, installation, and collection management. We are also excited by The Arts Building contribution to the cultural regeneration of Finsbury Park and how it will help us to engage with our local community.
If you would like a tour of our new facilities, please contact email@example.com
John Jones Project Space showcases Teresa Gillespie; return to the borderland bends
June 5th – July 26th
We are proud to announce the new John Jones Project Space’s inaugural exhibition, opening to the public from 5th June, with works by Dublin-based artist Teresa Gillespie. Teresa approaches the sensuous and intrusive space of touch through mixed media installations, which combine sculpture, video, photography, sound and spoken word.
The exhibition is open to the public between June 5th and July 26th, and will be the first of 4 exhibitions at John Jones Project space per year. Please tell us what you think of the show and the Arts Building on social media @johnjoneslondon using the #ArtsBuilding.
The John Jones Project Space was established in 2003 as a non-for-profit exhibition space. Our move into the new Arts Building, and support from the Arts Council England and Islington Council, has enabled us to increase the scope and ambition of our programme to include a series of free educational workshops, artist’s talks, and screenings for the local community.
Join us at Teresa Gillespie’s exhibition events:
Family Day on 14th June, 11am–3pm. Artist Carl Stevenson will run an engaging workshop for all the family. Free. Booking is essential, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Artist Talk on 26th July, 2pm. Teresa Gillespie and Cassandra Needham, Curator of John Jones Project Space, in conversation discussing the themes of materiality, collaboration and horror in her work.
Performance on 26th July, 4pm. Artist Lee Welch, cellist Ute Kanngiesser, and Teresa Gillespie.
