Submissions Open for East London Painting Prize

The deadline for the inaugural East London Painting Prize closes 10th April. The winner will receive £10,000, a solo show at the Nunnery Gallery in Bow, and will get the chance to join the selection panel in 2015.

The East London Painting Prize was formed in order to commemorate the life and work of painter and philanthropist Jack Goldhill, and aims to explore and celebrate diverse painting practices whilst championing artists from East London. This brand new prize has been created by The Legacy List, the charity for Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, alongside the Goldhill family, in association with Bow Arts Trust.

The shortlisted artists will be chosen by a panel of renowned art world professionals including; Varda Caivano, artist represented by Victoria Miro, Maitreyi Maheshwari, Senior Curator at the Zabludowicz Collection, Sarah Elson, independent curator and Bow Arts trustee, and Matt Price, Editor and Curator. The rest of the selection panel will be announced shortly.

The prize is open to both established and emerging artists living or working in East London Boroughs.
