The Distance Between
14 March 2014
Zeitgeist Art Projects (ZAP) current exhibition, The Distance between, at ASC Art Studios in New Cross, is set to run until 29th March where an Artists and Curators Talk and ASC Open Studios will accompany the exhibition.
The Distance Between explores the tension and connections spanning across eight artists practices. Themes of architecture and art history link the disciplines to create a dialogue with materiality, immeasurable space and extraordinary landscapes by the artists Katrina Blannin, Rosalind Davis, Jonny Green, Mandy Hudson, Evy Jokhova, Simon Leahy-Clark, Srinivas Surti & Annabel Tilley.
A highlight of the exhibition will be the sculptural surfaces of John Jones client Simon Leahy-Clark’s newspaper cut outs – his works draw attention to papers material qualities by removing their articles.
ZAP, which was founded in 2012 by Rosalind Davis and Annabel Tilley, programme a series of talks, seminars, tours and exhibitions to aim to engage and encourage artists to build their networks and learn from each other.
Rosalind Davis graduated from the Royal College of Art and has previously exhibited at the Courtauld and The John Jones Project Space. Annabel Tilley was shortlisted for the Jerwood Drawing Prize and has exhibited at Transition Gallery.
