United Visual Artists Exhibition Opens at the Barbican

Momentum, an installation of immersive sound, light and movement by United Visual Artists, opens at The Curve gallery at the Barbican Centre 13th February and runs until to 1st June. The innovative exhibition combines choreographed sequences of multi-disciplinary art and design elements inspired by physics and digital technologies. Moving objects play with shadows and the appearance of depth to allow the audience to question real experiences. UVA aim to change your perception of time and space as you respond to the unique architecture of the 90 metre long curve gallery. This exhibition relies on the experience of its visitors and not two experiences will be the same.

“Our internal model of time, movement, mass and space is based on a lifetime of experience, perhaps even genetically encoded.” UVA want us to consider; “What happens when we build a new model? What happens when we bend the rules?”

UVA was founded in 2003 by Matthew Clark, Chris Bird and Ash Nehru who have exhibited at the prestigious V&A, Royal Academy and South Bank Centre as well as built an impressive back catalogue of shows internationally.
