Bloomberg New Contemporaries Open Call

Since 1949 Bloomberg New Contemporaries has provided a platform for new and recent graduates to exhibit nationally as part of a touring exhibition, and this year, the organisation is celebrating its 65th anniversary. A pool of established artists has participated in New Contemporaries including Jake and Dinos Chapman, Anthony Gormley, Damien Hirst and long-time John Jones client, David Hockney.
Bloomberg New Contemporaries' annual open call for artist’s submissions is open now and closes on 16 February, and applications are welcomed from final year students and graduates of UK art schools. For 2014 the world renowned judges are; Marvin Gaye Chetwynd (performance artist formally known as Spartacus Chetwynd famed for her 2013 Turner prize nomination), Enrico David (Berlin based traditional craft artist known for his detailed pencil studies. He is represented by Michael Werner Gallery), Goshka Macuga (Polish interdisciplinary artist who has exhibited at Saatchi, Tate and most recently was commissioned by Bloomberg to create work for the Whitechapel gallery), as well as Simon Starling (Conceptual artist focusing on history who recently exhibited his film Phantom Ride at the Tate Britain and won the Turner Prize in 2005).
