The Royal Academy Call for Submissions
28 January 2014
The Royal Academy’s Summer Exhibition open call closes at midnight on February 14th. If you’re a practicing Artist or Architect working in any medium, make sure you don’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity as the submissions will be capped at 12,000.
The Royal Academy Summer Exhibition has been held annually since 1768 and has increasingly grown to become the world’s largest open contemporary art exhibition. The application process, however, has changed this year as the RA now only accept digital submissions on the Summer Exhibition’s dedicated website.
The selection committee consists of the highly esteemed Royal Academicians; Eileen Cooper, Gus Cummins, Richard MacCormac, John Maine, Chris Orr, Cornelia Parker, Eric Parry and Emma Stibbon who will shortlist 4,000 artworks for a second round of judging in April. If you are one of the successful 1,200 entrants you will have the amazing opportunity to exhibit alongside internationally renowned RA artists and architects, and furthermore be provided with a platform to showcase your work to an unrivalled audience of approximately 200,000 visitors. A staggering prize fund totalling over £50,000 will be awarded when the exhibition opens 9th June - 17th August.
