09 December 2013
The Lynn Painter-Stainers annual Prize, now in its 9th year, was established to encourage the very best of skilled representational draftsmanship, by both the Worshipful Company of Painters-Stainers and the Lynn Foundation. This award has gained a reputation amongst the artistic community for being one of the most prestigious prizes for 2-dimensional painting and attracts hundreds of entries.
You are eligible to enter the Lynn Painter-Stainers Prize if you’re over the age of 18 and are a resident in the UK. Only original, 2-dimensional paintings or drawings completed in the last three years, that have not been exhibited previously, are eligible. The entry fee is £15 per work (£5 for students) and artists are welcome to submit up to 4 works in total!
Since 2012, the exhibition of 100 shortlisted works has been displayed at the Mall Galleries in London. The Prize money totals a staggering £25,000, contributed by the Lynn Foundation, a charity devoted to children, the disabled, music and the arts. First Prize will receive £15,000, 5 runners up each receive £1,500 and a young artist’s award for an emerging artist aged 25 will receive £2,500!
Not only is this prize one of the highest funded awards for painting, the successful artists all gain great exposure in a primary London location. Submit your work before 5pm on 29th January for the chance to win.
