Jack Brindley Exhibition at Pippy Houldsworth Gallery
16 December 2013
Jack Brindley, a freelance member of the John Jones installation team, is exhibiting his series Sweat from January 16th to February 15th at Pippy Houldsworth Gallery.
Since completing his MA in painting at the Royal College of Art, Jack has been awarded the Worshipful Company of Painters and Stainers award, as well as a public art commission at Spike Island. He has exhibited in galleries internationally including; MK gallery, Christie’s, and Boetzelaer Nispen, and this year the artist was selected for Bloomberg New Contemporaries to showcase his work at the ICA and the Liverpool Biennale.
Jack’s solo work uses expressive gestures to apply and remove materials, leaving traces on surfaces to reference what is transferred through touch. The paintings in this show take a new colour direction using a bright and bold palette of pinks, blues and yellows. Jack is also known for his collaborations with Lucas Clayton under the name BC System. Their exciting projects vary from a proposal of Artists’ Talks to a tattoo project entitled Forever.
At John Jones we are proud to support the artistic endeavours of our team to encourage an exciting and creative working environment. For more details on Jack's exhibition Sweat please visit www.houldsworth.co.uk
