Over the weekend of the 16th and 17th of November a community of over 300 artists, print makers, craft makers and designers from Second Floor Studios invites you into their workspace for their Open Studios event.
SFSA say: “Our biannual Open Studios events are an integral part of our yearly programming and commitments to community engagement.”
SFSA is the largest single site affordable studio space project in London. Established in 1997, their core aim is to provide quality studios and facilities at affordable prices to artists who would struggle to find workspace on the commercial open market.
A selection of 15 member’s photographs will be displayed in the SFSA gallery ‘No format’, entitled Diverse Gatherings. Their open access print studios will have technicians on hand to demonstrate screen printing and etching techniques which visitors can participate in. Artreach, strategic education partners for primary school children, will be running free artist-led workshops and a family trail activity, where children can solve clues and answer questions whilst looking around the studios.
This event is great for getting all the family involved and inspiring them to be creative and is definitely worth a visit!
