Jerwood Makers Open 2014
21 October 2013
Emerging artists working across diverse craft disciplines are now welcome to apply for the Jerwood Makers Open 2014, a popular competition designed to commission and exhibit new work from creative talent working in the applied arts. This year’s entries will be judged by a prestigious panel including;
Junko Mori - artist and metal worker
Claire Catterall - Director of Exhibitions and Learning at Courtauld Gallery
Vicky Richardson - Director of Architecture, Design and Fashion for the British Council
The judges will select five lucky practitioners who will each receive £7,500 to produce new work which will be showcased in the Jerwood Space 9 July - 24 August, 2014 before being toured nationally. All entrants must be UK residents within 10 years of graduating from art school or setting up their practice, and the selectors will be looking for ‘outstanding and original practice in the applied arts’ whose practice and profile would enjoy positive developments should they be shortlisted.
Submit your work before 5pm on 18th November 2013 for the chance to win!
