Visa pour l’image Photojournalism Festival
02 September 2013
Headlined as the premier International Festival of Photojournalism in the world, Visa pour l'image invites thousands of visitors to view ground-breaking work in exhibitions across the stunning medieval city of Perpignan, France. Open-air evening screenings and conferences allow participants to debate current photojournalism issues and the future of the profession, whilst discovering the latest cutting edge equipment.
We are delighted that our long-time client and friend Don McCullin is one of the photographers invited to exhibit a major retrospective of work at this year’s event. McCullin’s dramatic career has sent him across the globe to cover conflicts in Cyprus, Vietnam, Nigeria, Northern Ireland, Bangladesh and Lebanon. At 77 years young, the photographer is still producing new work and was sent by The Times to document the Syrian conflict in December 2012. This exhibition is sure to contain iconic images alongside unforgettable new surprises.
The festival takes place 31st August - 15th September in a city with a rich cultural history. Following a visit in 1963, surrealist artist Salvador Dalí declared the city's railway station the centre of the Universe, saying that he always got his best ideas sitting in the waiting room.
