Alongside the stunning artwork on display at this year’s Masterpiece fair in Chelsea will be an equally mesmerising collection of 20th Century furniture.
Galleries from all over the world will exhibit key works at the show, providing interior designers with the ideal opportunity to find inspiration and source some stunning one-of-a-kind pieces for their most high-end projects.
Paris based Danish specialists in rare 20th century Scandinavian design, Dansk Mobelkunst Gallery (A27) will have a classic collection on display including a pair of “Mix” easy chairs (1931), in Mahogany and leather by Kaare Klint. Be sure to look out for their “Grasshopper” lounge chair (1968) in steel, canvas and leather by Prepen Fabricius.
Peter Petrou (A37) will showcase a number of pieces in keeping with their 20th Century museum quality limited edition designs harking from many cultures. These include a unique Enignum dining table in olive ash, and a hand polished milled aluminium Colander table by Daniel Rohr.
London gallery Gordon Watson (C18) has established itself as a beacon of elegance over the last 30 years or so, and will be exhibiting a beautiful pair of walnut and leather stools (1961) by Terence Harold Robsjohn-Gibbings for Saridis of Athens. Also on display will be a stunning English rock crystal and sterling silver bowl table (2012) by Paul Belvoir which is sure to attract attention.
The exhibition runs from 27th June – 3rd July and is a must-visit for designers and furniture specialists!
