Islington Word 2013 Festival
01 May 2013
The Word 2013 Festival kicks off in Islington today, with activities and opportunities to discover new words in unusual locations across the London borough! From Bookwraps adorning trees at Highbury Fields and Whittington Park to poetry by Thornhill Primary School pupils, there is something for everyone throughout May 2013. The Word Festival aims to explore and celebrate the pleasure of reading, writing and freedom of expression in Islington and John Jones is delighted to be getting involved! As part of the festival, a ‘free word of the day’ will displayed in a public place in Islington every day throughout May, including the John Jones site! A poem containing all 31 words will be created by the festival’s writer in residence Paul Lyalls at the end of the month.
