An introduction to Articheck

An introduction to Articheck

In the commercial art world, artworks which are scheduled to be bought, sold, exhibited, shipped, framed, insured or restored will undergo a ‘condition check’. Condition reports enable the effective monitoring of any change or damage to a piece over time and allow the buyer, seller or institution caring for the piece to seek conservation treatments if necessary. These documents are vital for legal and insurance purposes, international shipping and artwork loans.

Condition reports can be time consuming to produce, and there is not currently a standardised format used worldwide. Experienced paper conservator Annika Erikson has identified this need and is currently developing a new condition checking and inventory app for the iPhone and iPad. This innovative app can cut the time it takes you to produce a fine art condition report in half and dramatically improve the standard of your reports!

John Jones is delighted to be hosting a special ‘Introduction to Articheck’ event at our Finsbury Park design studio on Wednesday 5th June 18:30 – 20:30. Conservators, museums, galleries, public and private collections, auction houses, dealers, insurers, shippers, framers and artists are invited to John Jones to see a short presentation on the functions of the app, after which you can try it out for yourself!

Wine will be served.

Please RSVP here to attend. Please be aware that spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
