Neil Gall - Into the studio with John Jones and Love Art London
08 March 2013
We have been working with creative membership Love Art London to organise exclusive behind the scenes events with some of the capital’s most exciting creative talent! Our April event is scheduled to take place in the private studio of Neil Gall, a Scottish contemporary artist using painting, drawing, photography and sculpture techniques to express his interests. Now based in London, the artist uses his everyday life in the metropolis as the foundation for his exploration of the surreal in social commonplaces. Neil is perhaps best known for his ‘S&M sculpture paintings’ which echo the life-size pre-pubescent dolls of German artist Hans Belmer, transforming ‘the debris of everyday life into stunted, contorted & amputated characters’. The artist works to magnify tiny details of an object, resulting in an intricate and methodical investigation of aspects of reality we may miss in our everyday lives. This exclusive event will be a unique opportunity to find out more about his inspirations, techniques and use of unusual materials such as plasticine, chocolate and burst balloons!
This event will take place on Thursday 25 April 6:30-8:15pm at a private studio in Soho. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to book your free place now!
