Willie Christie & Hughie Turner create BT Art Box
15 June 2012
Photographer and John Jones client Willie Christie and Hughie Turner have been selected to produce a BT Art Box for a new public art exhibition that will take place across London throughout summer 2012. The exhibition marks the 25th anniversary of childline, and this piece will be one of many BT Art Boxes in high-profile locations around the capital.
“Initially, I was to paint the box red with Grace Coddington's lips to match and then in another serendipity moment, I remembered my old mate Hughie a wonderfully talented specialist painter. After reviewing several possibilities (wood, stone & even linen) we decided on black marble with gold leaf trim. The Kiss was born!” Willie Christie
‘Kiss’ will be on display in the Harvey Nichols windows, outside the National Gallery, and finally on the doorstep of Vogue House. Following the exhibition, the box will be auctioned in aid of childline.
