Performance 7:30pm
Jan will also be holding a sound workshop exploring ‘Sound Fields’ 4pm
As a sound artist, composer and multi-instrumentalist, Jan spent time at John Jones, recording and analysing the sounds of production around our workshops, creating bespoke instruments that explore the materials and surfaces that we use.
Jan experimented with ways of using paper and aluminium in conjunction with loudspeakers to create resonating surfaces. Other experimental approaches included building a pyrophone, which is an instrument played using fire.
Jan's site-specific installation for the John Jones project space is composed of three elements responding to the space itself and the low frequency vibration that pervades the John Jones buildings which Jan has recorded and reconfigured to make three new interrelated pieces Sound Structures, Particle and Sound Field .
Limited spaces available please RSVP samantha.watson-wood@johnjones.co.uk
