Raqib Shaw’s extremely intricate and delicate work features intense amounts of pooled paint, enamel and jewels. Working closely with the artist, we designed an elegant and contemporary framing solution. Precise attention was given to the space around the work as well as the three-dimensional space, adding depth and presence to the piece as a whole. Due to the heavy media used in the work, Japanese hinges support the paper without restricting its movement. Careful consideration was given to match the tone of the paper, mount and frame, unifying them to create a dramatic statement and allowing the work to shine. In addition we designed a series of large scale panels up to seven metres wide.
