Ryan Mosley - Alison Jacques Gallery
In his second solo show with the Alison Jacques Gallery since early last year, painter Ryan Mosley brings greater dimension to the unique aesthetic by which he has defined himself. Building his figures on a primitive skeletal structure reminiscent of the first depictions of man and often placing them amidst an ambiguous foliage backdrop, Mosley gives the "characters" of his paintings a modern breath of life through his warm, muted colour pallet and hint of narrative. Abandoning concrete frame of reference, he creates whole new abstract worlds in which his subjects are endowed with histories and storylines of their own to be fully realised through the viewer’s imagination. Having worked with Ryan for some time, John Jones were delighted to produce the circular canvases and panels which subtly compliment and enhance Mosley's very specific aesthetic.
"It's great to be able to work with the team at John Jones who's advice and insight is second to none." Ryan Mosley
