Bernard Jacobson Gallery - Robert Motherwell
Our design team were thrilled to frame a solo exhibition of work by acclaimed abstract expressionist Robert Motherwell. Displayed at Bernard Jacobson Gallery, this was the first ever show dedicated solely to the prints of the artist who made a significant contribution to postwar American art.
Each print has been secured into place using museum quality tabs on a crisp white mount board. The wooden art frames have been cut in a simple square-profile design to create a clean and minimalist backdrop for the artist’s abstract style of work. As artworks on paper, the choice of frame glazing is extremely important in the long-term conservation of the work. This collection has been protected with low glare art glass which contains an ultra violet light filter to reduce the damaging effects of both natural and electric light. The glazing is also ‘water white’, meaning it does not contain the slight green tint associated with traditional picture framing glass. Strong backboards and museum quality strap hangers ensure the framed works sit flush against the gallery walls with a beautiful aesthetic result.
