Marianne Braganza - Baguette Frame Designs

Our design team were pleased to create a bespoke presentation solution for a series of oil paintings by Marianne Braganza, a Frankfurt born artist who now lives and works in London.

“I like to move freely, intuitively, spontaneously and varied in composition - engaging with beautiful materials - between drawing & sculpting from life - and painting the abstracted form - creating an invitation for the observer to enjoy a visually sensual and emotional journey." Marianne Braganza

Works on canvas of this nature look particularly effective when presented within a ‘baguette’ frame, which allows the artwork to rest within a tray shaped design. In ‘The Manuscript III’, 72 small canvases were individually secured within one large frame, creating a dramatic artwork with real gravitas. The frame has been cut from poplar wood and soft sanded before being finished with gesso by hand. Our colour specialists hand-painted the frame in a multiple-tone red colour wash. This depth of colour within the frame design works to enhance the diverse colour palette of the artwork itself, adding to the bold impact of the piece. A single work on canvas was also framed within the same style on a smaller scale.
