London Design Festival 2012 Medals

Each year, the London Design Festival awards a series of much coveted London Design Medals to individuals who have made an immense contribution to the field of design. The 2012 medals were presented at a VIP dinner in The Foreign & Commonwealth Office.

Our team were delighted to design and produce a bespoke presentation solution for all four medals to ensure they are protected throughout their lifetime on display with a beautiful show-stopping result. Bespoke acrylic display boxes stand upon brass display plinths, welded and polished by hand to a beautiful finish by our skilled metalwork technicians. Each medal is cradled on a unique acrylic arm which subtly and securely supports its weight and gives the appearance that the award is floating within the presentation case. This arm is attached to a simple lid, allowing the medal to be safely lifted and removed from the box at any time. These cases are produced from the finest quality optium acrylic, a material with an ultra violet light filter and a low glare coating to ensure the view of the medals is crystal clear. The finishing touch is the addition of metallic text on the base of the case listing the award category and winner.  A soft felt underside to the cases ensures they can be displayed on any surface without the risk of damage.
