Helmut Newton

Our design team have over forty years experience in protecting and presenting work by some of the biggest names in photography, including Irving Penn and David Bailey. This stunning Helmut Newton piece was brough to John Jones by a private collector looking for something special. Newton's works are traditionally framed in black wooden designs, however the curved lines of the dome hooded hair dryers in the image inspired our designers to present the piece within an aluminium 'bubble frame'. The curved joins of this frame design have been welded by hand by skilled metalwork technicians in the John Jones studios. The entire design is polished to a high mirror shine and is protected from fading, embrittlement and deterioration by ultra violet filtered Perspex glazing.

"We acquired 'Patti Hansen and Winnie Hollman for Xavier Coiffures, New York 1976' by Helmut Newton at a Christies auction in May 2013.  We had been following the auction sites for several years, looking for Newton photographs, and this auction had a number of his pieces that we liked. Ultimately we purchased three, all of which have been framed by John Jones. John Jones was recommend to us by the curator at the  Michael Stevenson gallery in Cape Town a few years ago and we have been extremely pleased with their work.  We now use John Jones to frame all our new pieces."
