Getty Images Gallery - Marilyn
John Jones worked with long-standing client Getty Images Gallery to frame ‘Marilyn’, a new exhibition featuring original dresses alongside images of the Hollywood legend. This collection commemorated 50 years since the untimely death of Marilyn Monroe, and featured images from the Hollywood icon’s early years as an aspiring actress, alongside photographs of Marilyn as an international star. The John Jones design team created museum standard framing to present the photographs to their maximum potential.
Each bespoke frame has been cut in a contemporary square profile design out of high quality woods, including utile and lime. The frame designs have been sprayed and waxed with either a crisp black or wash white finish, chosen to complement the individual images. Within these picture frames, each print is held in place using museum standard photo corners, a transparent fixing mechanisim which positions and supports each print securely without the risk of long term damage. The images have also been protected using water white frame glass, a professional glazing solution which does not have the green tint associated with traditional picture framing glass. These bespoke hand made frames act as the ideal fine art conservation solution to protect and showcase captivating images of this film legend.
