Dimitri Kozyrev - Breese Little Gallery
The John Jones Artist Surfaces team offer a fine art stretching service for artworks created on canvas. Our technicians regularly work with professional artists and galleries to stretch new work, or re-stretch old paintings which were originally supported by poor quality stretcher bars. Over time, cheap, mass-produced stretchers will warp, rot and change shape, causing damage to the artwork. Our museum quality stretcher bars are assembled from welded aluminium or tulip wood, a low emission hard wood with very few knots. This material is kiln-dried to remove moisture, creating a durable, strong canvas stretcher support with a low risk of splitting when nailed or stapled. Stretching paintings correctly to ensure the artwork remains protected requires skilled technicians. Our team have experience in stretching fine art onto stretchers of all shapes and sizes, including circular and elliptical designs. We were delighted to stretch a series of paintings by Dimitri Kozyrev for display in this solo exhibition at Breese Little Gallery, exploring ‘the inheritance of modern history and the avant-garde’ in a riot of colour.
