Charlie Warde - Copper Frame
This beautiful frame has been welded by hand in the John Jones metal workshop to a striking copper finish to house a stunning copper and gold etching by artist Charlie Warde. The piece is part of a series entitled 'Memories For The Future', depicting buildings by Goldfinger in London and exploring themes of memory, utopia and decay in Modernist architecture.
Produced from brass, the frame has been chemically treated to create a convincing copper effect, whilst the fillets and aluminium frame backing have been hand-painted by skilled artisans in our special finishing department to blend seamlessly with the outer frame. The artwork is protected with optium acrylic glazing, containing an ultra violet light filter and a low glare coating for an uninterrupted viewing experience which will provide the piece with museum quality protection. The frame has been fitted with a split-batten hanging mechanism, ideal for the installation of heavy artworks which require extra support whilst on display.
