Claire Moynihan - Bell Jar Display Stand
Artist Claire Moynihan creates beautiful and delicate fabric replicas of British insects by embroidering onto felt balls. These highly collectible pieces allow viewers to appreciate the diverse details of the insect world in a new light and are created from locally sourced alpaca wool! This delicate snail has been presented in a bespoke display case hand-made in our London workshops.
The base is cut from solid walnut wood, stained and waxed to a beautiful dark green finish to complement the tones within the artwork. A specially moulded white plinth proudly sits above the base to support the snail, providing it with extra gravitas and presence. For long-term protection, two discs of heritage paper buffer the snail from coming into direct contact with the plinth itself. The piece is protected with glazing molded into the shape of a beautiful bell jar, a design which echoes traditional entomological displays.
This beautiful presentation option has a chic, vintage feel and can be used to present any small 3-dimensional object or sculpture. Our team can finish the stand in any colour or texture you desire to match your interior design. Please contact a member of our team to find out more or to request a quote.
