Woodmill
John Jones is a unique fine art picture framers with an onsite woodmill at our north London workshop. The mill allows our team to run custom frame shapes and designs overnight, and to our knowledge we are the only bespoke framer in the world with this skill.
Our bespoke frame design team literally sketch out unique frame shapes and sizes and take their sketches to our woodmill manager, who produces an electronic CAD like drawing. This drawing is used to create a Perspex cutting template. Our specialist metallic cutting machine can then produce a new cutter to fit into the John Jones moulding machine. After selecting the appropriate timber from our stock of raw planks, the team can finally run the moulding.
From modern frame design to decorative renaissance frame shapes, we’re able to produce any bespoke frame style and size. There are not many places in today’s world that you can have a completely bespoke and unique item designed. Luckily when it comes to frames, there is John Jones!
