Frame Colouring
We have three frame colour spray booths on site at John Jones, meaning we are able to match any shade.
John Jones have framed street art in fluorescent pink frames, framed photography exhibitions in soft grey frames and framed antique prints in dark green frames to name a few! Our frame designers are fantastic at selecting the perfect colour to enhance an artwork. It sometimes works well to match the frame colour to a particular shade in the painting, emphasising depth in the image; alternatively our clients can request that we colour the frame to complement an interior design or decor. There are no set rules when it comes to framing colour and design - only a strong aesthetic eye.
Our custom-made frames are sanded a number of times to achieve a smooth, even surface before the colour is applied using water-based sprays with a minimum of four coats, creating a beautiful consistent finish.
