John Jones himself first entered into the fine art industry during the 1960’s, when he quickly discovered that he had an aptitude for making high quality bespoke picture frames to order. It was not long before he was working on professional art framing for creative individuals such as Francis Bacon and David Hockney, designing and producing museum standard frames specifically to complement their artwork.
Based in north London, our bespoke framing company is family-owned and family-run, and has grown to encompass a highly skilled team of 90 craftspeople and designers. Our expertise in fine art and conservation framing enables us to produce virtually any kind of high quality frame design, including metallic frames in welded aluminium and brass, Perspex frames, and wooden frames from environmentally sustainable forests, entirely at our 38,000 sq. ft workshop. Over the years we have expanded into new services including museum quality art materials, printing, fine art installation, artwork conservation and collection management.
In January 2012, our founder and Chairman Mr John Jones was awarded an MBE as Master Framer for his services to the arts.
Our artisan framing, professional photography, fine art installation and quality artist surfaces departments provide clients with a complete in-house service. Our quest for perfection and focus on quality continues to be the drive behind our success and expansion into new fine art services. We support the construction, presentation, documentation and hanging of artwork to the finest museum standards.
Our clients are drawn from across the fields of fine art and design. We produce elegant hand-made frames for both London and international galleries, as well as high profile artists, private or corporate collectors & major institutions. We also provide custom framing, conservation and photography services for Christie’s, Sotheby’s, and other leading auction houses.
Our passion at John Jones is to build life-long relationships with our clients, to encourage the next generation of creative talent and support emerging and established galleries and museums across the globe.
